Early tournament results
Salomon’s first results on his WSOP.com profile come from the mid-2000s. In the 2006 WSOP Main Event he finished 196th of 8,773 entries for $42,882, and in 2010 he made the final table of the WPT Championship at Bellagio, finishing 9th of 353 for $54,378. [2] Outside poker he works as a film producer, which is how WSOP.com introduced him during the 2014 Big One for One Drop. [4]

2014: fourth at the WSOP
The 2014 Big One for One Drop drew 42 entries and a prize pool of $37,333,338. Salomon led the final nine after Day 2 with 23,575,000 chips, having taken the lead with a large bluff against Christoph Vogelsang, which he then showed to the table. [4] He began the final day as chip leader but finished fourth for $2,800,000, while Daniel Colman beat Daniel Negreanu heads-up for the $15,306,668 first prize. [3]
2016: third in Monte Carlo
In October 2016 Salomon reached three-handed play in the €1,000,000 Monte-Carlo One Drop Extravaganza, a 28-entry field. As the short stack he three-bet all in with queen-jack and was called by Anatoly Gurtovoy’s ace-queen; a jack on the flop put him ahead, but an ace on the turn sent him out in third place for €3,000,000, the largest cash of his career. Elton Tsang won the event for €11,111,111. [5]
2018: fourth again
Salomon bagged the Day 1 chip lead of the 2018 Big One for One Drop with 11,445,000. [7] At the final table of the 27-entry event he moved all in with ace-king of hearts over a call from Fedor Holz, who held pocket tens, and a shove from Byron Kaverman. Salomon flopped two pair, but a ten on the river gave Holz a set and eliminated both players, Salomon in fourth place for $2,840,000. Justin Bonomo won the tournament. It was Salomon’s third Big One for One Drop cash. [6]

High Stakes Poker and cash games
Salomon is a regular in the televised high-stakes cash games on PokerGO. In Season 8 of High Stakes Poker, broadcast in early 2021, he played $200/$400/$800 No-Limit Hold’em against Tom Dwan, Jean-Robert Bellande and Michael Schwimer, winning pots of $106,800 and $111,400 in one episode before losing a $360,800 pot when Bellande filled up on the river. - Season 14, 2025: ace-three of clubs against Sam Kiki’s ace-king for $1,008,500, which PokerNews described as the second largest pot in the show’s 14-season history at the time. Kiki won both runouts. [12]
Playing style
PokerNews has described Salomon as “one of the most unpredictable high rollers” and an “always loose and aggressive poker player”. [10] His opponents have found him hard to read: after Schwimer admitted misreading him in a Season 8 hand, Tom Dwan remarked that Schwimer was “not the first guy to read Rick wrong”.
