WPF welcomes the Taiwan Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP)

In a significant development for the global poker community, the Taiwan Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP) has officially joined the World Poker Federation (WPF), marking a new chapter in its quest to promote and elevate the sport of poker in Taiwan and all Asia. This milestone was celebrated with enthusiasm by both organizations, heralding a promising future for poker as a recognized mind sport.

The CTP Association, known for its commitment to fostering a healthy and competitive poker environment, has been instrumental in promoting the sport across Taiwan. By becoming a member of the WPF, the CTP aims to leverage this new partnership to expand its reach, support local talent, and contribute to the global poker community.

The World Poker Federation, as a member of the International Mind Sports Association (IMSA), is at the forefront of recognizing poker as a mind sport. This inclusion alongside traditional mind sports like chess and bridge underscores poker’s intellectual and strategic aspects. The WPF’s mission is to promote poker worldwide, host international championships, and advocate for fair regulations, reflecting a shared vision with CTP.

This collaboration between CTP and WPF is an important moment in the sport’s history. Leonardo Cavarge, director of the World Poker Federation, emphasized that this marks a significant milestone for the future of poker in Asia: “We are thrilled to welcome the CTP Association into the WPF family. Their entrance enforces our vision of a bright future for poker in Asia, as we join forces to elevate the sport to new heights.”
