When she joined the World Poker Federation in 2022, Karina came from outside the poker industry. What could have been a challenge quickly became an asset: she realized that diverse perspectives enrich the Federation’s work and drive innovation.

As one of the key figures behind the creation of the WPF Women’s Committee, Karina is committed to building spaces that generate real impact. For her, poker is a powerful platform for social transformation.

What is the importance of poker in your life?
Poker has always been part of my life in a very natural way, connected to a family context that shaped my perspective from the beginning. For me, poker is inclusive by nature and represents much more than just a game — it is a powerful platform for personal growth and social transformation. Over time, I realized that my experiences and learnings from different markets could contribute positively to the development of poker, and this strengthened my bond with the sport.

In your opinion, what is the importance of the Women’s Committee?
“The Women’s Committee represents a crucial step in strengthening and expanding the female presence in poker. this initiative generates significant impact, not only by opening doors for more women to participate but also by offering recognition and support to those who are starting out.

It provides a space to overcome insecurities, exchange experiences, and show that women can grow both professionally and personally through the game. The Committee is helping build a more inclusive and representative future for poker worldwide.”
