As Host of the South Africa stop of the WPF Ladies Weekend, Tariro Vanderlinden takes a leading role in shaping the country’s first participation in this global movement. Her presence ensures that Cape Town becomes a stage where women in poker are celebrated and connected to the worldwide community.

Born in Zimbabwe and now based in South Africa, Tariro has built her reputation through consistent results on the live circuit, including a podium finish at the SunBet Poker Tour Ladies Event. Beyond her achievements, she is committed to inspiring more women to play, using her journey to highlight the discipline, resilience, and confidence that define poker.

The Cape Town Poker Sports Association is the first formalized poker sports body in South Africa and an active member of both the Cape Town Sports Council and the World Poker Federation. Representing five clubs with over 800 active players, the Association is committed to the recognition and development of poker as a mind sport, providing a safe and competitive platform while driving the game’s growth in South Africa and beyond.

The Ladies Weekend reflects exactly what we stands for: breaking barriers, creating opportunities, and amplifying the voice of women in poker. This event is just the beginning of a long-term commitment to building a global network where women can lead, inspire, and shape the future of the game.
