About THAK
Founded on December 8, 2022, the Tournament Hold’em Association Korea (THAK) is dedicated to establishing Texas Hold’em poker as a recognized mind sport and promoting it as an official Olympic discipline. THAK is committed to fostering a healthy tournament culture, reshaping social perceptions of poker through educational initiatives, and contributing to national and regional economic development through tourism and event promotion.
The association undertakes research on policies and systems for a sustainable sports culture, organizes tournaments with integrity and professionalism, and develops comprehensive training programs for the next generation of poker professionals. With over 9,000 members and strategic partnerships with leading poker leagues and clubs across the country, THAK continues to drive the growth, recognition, and positive social impact of Hold’em poker in Korea.
Through ongoing collaboration with government bodies, local casinos, and community organizations, THAK actively works to create a safe and vibrant environment for poker enthusiasts, ensuring that tournaments not only entertain but also educate, inspire, and foster long-term opportunities for players and professionals alike.
