French Federation of Associative Poker

About the federation

At the end of 2006, a few club leaders decided to get together and create a forum to exchange essential information for club creation and development. For a year, this tool helped numerous club leaders set up their own clubs across France.

In 2008, around twenty clubs decided to create an official association called the Club des Clubs de Poker with the aim of supporting the development of associative poker in France and creating national individual (CNIC) and team (CNEC) competitions. Many associations quickly joined the Club des Clubs, created by and for them. In 2009, 80 clubs were members, 120 in 2010, and since 2011, the number of members has fluctuated between 150 and 210.

From then on, the main objective was to become a true official federation, recognized by the State. Several club managers joined the CA team (composed solely of managers or former managers), bringing the skills and sufficient numbers to implement the essential missions to this objective: structuring, representing associative poker to the authorities (ministries, Arjel, etc.), specific actions to fight against addiction, etc., and of course the establishment of partnerships to offer the most important live competitions reserved for associative poker.

In 2023, at the instigation of the Board of Directors and its president, the member clubs voted at a general meeting to change the association’s name. The French Federation of Associative Poker (FFPA) was born. With this evolution, the names of its competitions also evolved, with the CNIC becoming the French Individual Associative Poker Championship, and the CNEC becoming the National Team Associative Poker Championship. A new adventure was born!
