Lagos Professional Poker Association (LPPA)
About the federation
The Lagos Professional Poker Association (LPPA) is the official Nigerian chapter of the World Poker Federation (WPF), committed to advancing poker as a respected mind sport throughout the country. Its mission is to establish poker as a recognized skill-based discipline that promotes strategic thinking, mathematical proficiency, and psychological insight among its participants.
The LPPA is directly affiliated with the Lagos Poker Festival (LPF), Nigeria’s flagship live poker event. Launched in 2024 and sanctioned by the Lagos State Lotteries & Gaming Authority (LSLGA), the LPF is rapidly becoming a landmark on Africa’s poker calendar. With guarantees reaching NGN 75 million and strong backing from leading sponsors in banking, fintech, and lifestyle industries, the festival attracts top players from Nigeria and abroad while showcasing the strategic and cultural value of poker as a sport.
3XC Gaming Limited serves as the LPPA’s founding institutional member, with its founders comprising the LPPA’s initial Board of Trustees. This structure ensures that the Association is guided by experienced industry operators who are deeply invested in promoting poker’s professional and cultural growth in Nigeria.
Through its affiliation with the Lagos Poker Festival and its strong governance base, the LPPA has begun building a unified ecosystem that nurtures talent, raises professional standards, and positions Nigeria as a growing hub for competitive poker in Africa.
