Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 surnomm\u00e9 \u00ab Puggy \u00bb apr\u00e8s qu&#039;un accident d&#039;enfance lui a d\u00e9figur\u00e9 le nez \u2013 un surnom qu&#039;il a adopt\u00e9 toute sa vie. D\u00e8s son plus jeune \u00e2ge, il \u00e9tait un combattant, tant par son esprit que par les circonstances. Il a quitt\u00e9 l&#039;\u00e9cole en CM2 et s&#039;est engag\u00e9 dans la marine am\u00e9ricaine \u00e0 17 ans, o\u00f9 il a appris la discipline, d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une confiance l\u00e9gendaire et aiguis\u00e9 son instinct de joueur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Puggy a grandi \u00e0 une \u00e9poque o\u00f9 la survie exigeait courage et cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9. Il jouait au billard, jouait aux cartes sur les navires de la Marine et pariait sur presque tout. Son charisme naturel et son style de jeu audacieux le rendaient \u00e0 la fois aim\u00e9 et craint \u00e0 toutes les tables. Il ne cachait jamais ses opinions, remettant souvent en question l&#039;establishment du poker, m\u00eame s&#039;il contribuait \u00e0 sa construction. Il jouait au billard pour de l&#039;argent, pariait sur le sport et recherchait des parties de poker \u00e0 Las Vegas, Reno et partout ailleurs o\u00f9 il y avait de l&#039;action. Il ne cherchait pas seulement des cartes, il cherchait un avantage. Il avait une capacit\u00e9 \u00e9tonnante \u00e0 d\u00e9crypter les gens, \u00e0 rep\u00e9rer les faiblesses et \u00e0 exercer une pression constante \u00e0 la table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1960, Pearson \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 une figure bien connue du circuit poker de Las Vegas. Il fit partie du noyau dur des joueurs, parmi lesquels Doyle Brunson, Amarillo Slim et Sailor Roberts, qui pos\u00e8rent les bases de ce qui allait devenir le circuit professionnel poker moderne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mais ce n&#039;\u00e9tait pas seulement son talent qui le distinguait, c&#039;\u00e9tait aussi sa conviction que poker m\u00e9ritait structure et visibilit\u00e9. Alors que de nombreux joueurs s&#039;appuyaient sur des strat\u00e9gies rigoureuses et m\u00e9thodiques, Pearson privil\u00e9giait le chaos contr\u00f4l\u00e9.
